What Is CBD?
What is CBD? It stands for cannabidiol, a compound found in weed or marijuana plants that relieves pain, reduces anxiety, helps sleep, etc. The compound CBD (Cannabidiol) is one of 113 identified cannabinoids found in cannabis sativa.
It is not psychoactive, meaning that it won’t make you ‘high’ which is the sensation most commonly associated with cannabis. Or smoking weed as it is known. It has been reported to offer a range of health and medicinal benefits. That is why it has gained so much popularity of late.
CBD and all of its properties have been suppressed from people for years and years. (my personal belief is that it started during prohibition people were smoking pot when they could not drink.) Do you remember a movie during that time called Reefer Madness? You can find it on You-Tube. It was meant to scare people into not smoking pot. Because of that, the whole plant was demonized and so we have not been able to have the benefits that it offers.
